You'll be feeling real army strong while the VA lady tells you that your knee injuries aren't related to your service.

a guy eagerly asked his recruiter what he could expect from jump school. "Well, " the recruiter replied, "it's three weeks long." "What else?" he inquired. "The first week they separate the men from the boys, " the recruiter said. "The second week they separate the men from the fools." "And the third week?" he asked. "The third week the fools jump."

During WW2 the British were shocked at how big the US patachute packs were. When asked about the size difference, the US soldiers explained one part was for the parachute and the other part was for the reserve chute. The British soldier responded..."Reserve chute?!?!?!"

My late brother was in the 82nd Airborne.
He did 3 tours of combat
Two in Afghanistan and one in Iraq
He was the toughest man I ever met, I love and miss my brother so damn much. He was a true American fighter
And he loved the Army and the 82nd just like family. Thank you guys for your service 🙏 and God Bless America 🇺🇸 💪

Former 82nd airborne soldier. It was fun when I was in my twenties. I am 48 yrs old, now I can feel my knees and my back are not the same. It brings back great memories.

I did airborne school back in 1983, I was phobic about heights at the time, they cured me of that. The instructors were twice as mean as any drill sergeant. I remember during mock door training, we had an instructor yell “anyone of you who moves his arm, I’m going to bite it off” after that my had a muscle cramp from holding the mock static line above head for about an hour, my arm slight moved, the instructor grabbed my arm and bit it, the slapped my helmet and got noise to noise and started yelling. Now I never mentioned the incident to anyone. At the end of the day the senior TAC NCO an E8 who was in charge of all the instructors called me over and asked me if I had gotten my shots? I was clueless what he was getting at, so I yelled unclear SGT. Airborne. (We were not allowed to use yes or no, just clear or unclear). The senior TAC then responded your shots for the dog that bite you.

That’s where my back said, “it’s spinal” on my very first jump. RIP L5-S1 😂

It took me over 20 years to get the records of me breaking C3-C7. They told me my pain and numbness wasn’t service connected. The entire record I got was a single page of the ER doctor’s notes that showed the breaks. I’d gladly give up the 100% P&T to be without pain.

Definitely the most fun school in the US Army, it has it’s pains at times but the jumps, weekends, and subway across the street make it worth going for.
