Political leaders can ‘never satisfy the activists’

Sky News host Chris Kenny says the political leaders in Glasgow can “never satisfy the activists,” and they “can’t bring the big emitters to heel”.

“So, Glasgow, with its private jets, famous supporters, and giant entourages, might generate more emissions than it cuts,” he said.

“And it won't be taken seriously by the extremists that it’s trying to placate.”

Activists demanded we sign up to the Paris 2030 commitments, so AUS signed up to Paris. We are currently meeting Paris 2030. But now that is not good enough according to the activists so we have commit to net zero by 2050. So ScoMo foolishly signs up to net zero. But now even that is not good enough according to the activists so now we have to go back to Paris 2030 and ramp that up even more. And if we signed up to that then that won't be good enough and then it will be net zero by 2040 or negative 10 by 2050. These activists' entire existence revolves around being busy on their latest crusade, and once their current crusade is won they have to find something else to maintain meaning in life, at everyone else's expense. We can't give in to them!
