Unraveling the Mystery of Life and Death | 2023 SRF World Convocation

Yogoda Satsanga Society of India monk Swami Ishwarananda shares wisdom from Paramahansa Yogananda on how to unravel the seeming mystery of life and death. We seem to emerge from the unknown, and into the unknown we disappear. Our loved ones vanish, and we wonder if we will ever see them again. Solving this great mystery, said Paramahansa Yogananda, is the purpose of our sojourn on earth.

This class shows how Yogananda’s teachings bring an understanding of the continuity of life and the meaning and deeper significance of death — banishing our fears and sorrows and ultimately leading us to freedom from the endless rounds of reincarnation.

This video is part of the 2023 SRF World Convocation, a free weeklong program of online classes on Paramahansa Yogananda’s “how-to-live” teachings and meditation techniques, guided group meditations and kirtans (devotional chanting), virtual pilgrimage tours to the ashrams where Yogananda lived and communed with the Divine, and more.

and accuracy.Description and connection of prana/lifeforce with the soul was explained in a lucid way.
After listening to this class some of the 12 delusions in Lesson 9(God and His Universe) and parts of Lesson 10(Cycles of Life and Death), could be understood with greater clarity. Stories and analogies drawn are effective, wonderful discourse.
