Hearing and SEEING Kiss For the First Time

It's your sometimes friendly Irish girl here, and today I'm going to be reacting to a video of something new to me. Specifically, I'm going to be reacting to their first time hearing and seeing Kiss perform "I Was Made For Lovin' You" live.

Now, as an Irish girl myself, I have to say that Kiss is a band that's been around for a long time, and they've definitely made an impact on the rock scene. So, I'm excited to see who Kiss are and what they're about. .... Oh my god!

Today I introduce Kiss and explain a little bit about their history. And then, the band comes out on stage, with Gene Simmons in full costume and makeup. I have to say, they definitely know how to make an entrance!

As they start playing "I Was Made For Lovin' You," you can see them getting into it more and more.

"I Was Made For Lovin' You" is such a classic Kiss rock anthem, and it's hard not to get swept up in the energy of the performance. I find myself tapping my foot and nodding my head along to the beat.

As the song comes to a close, I have to agree - Kiss definitely knows how to put on a show!

Overall, I really enjoyed watching this video. It's always fun to see people experiencing something new for the first time, and "I Was Made For Lovin' You" is such a great song introduction to the world of Kiss rock. Thanks for watching along with me, and I'll catch you in the next one!Hearing and SEEING Kiss For the First Time

To this day, my favorite KISS story has to be when they performed a concert on Halloween in Hollywood (about 15-20 years ago) and the concert they were being driven by van back to their hotel. However this being on Sunset boulevard AND Halloween everybody was out partying and causing a virtual standstill in traffic. The band decided to get out of the van and walk back to their hotel. They were still in full makeup and costume having left the concert almost immediately after its conclusion. During the walk, nobody stopped and harassed them and they only got a few complements shouted out on how good their costumes were and they made it back to their hotel with ease because nobody realized who they really were!

As a Kiss fan for over 40 years it's great to see a person's genuine first reaction. Kiss has had their ups and downs through the years, but I'll always remember being a kid jumping up and down on my bed singing along and playing a tennis racket as a guitar

KISS was my first concert, I saw them in their 1976 Destroyer tour at the ripe old age of 12 with my then 23 year old uncle. It was mind blowing at the time.

KISS is America's #1 Gold Record Award winning group of all time, and that's in every category, KISS can easily be named one of rock's most influential bands. The Rock N Roll Hall of Famers have released 44 albums and sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.

Many years ago I got to see Paul Stanley sing as the Phantom of the Opera in Toronto, Ont, Canada. The guy's voice was mind blowing and haunting.

It's so fun to watch you realize you know more music than you thought. It was such a big deal when KISS did an album cover without their makeup.

When this song was released, it caused a bit of an uproar amongst Kiss fans, many of them hated the fact that their favorite hard rock band had written a disco song. It was written on a bet. Paul Stanley (the lead vocalist for this song) had bet a friend that it was easier to write a disco song than it was to write a rock song. This was the result, and he wrote it quickly, supposedly over a single weekend.

Wow, you sure know how to pick 'em, Irish Rocker Girl! I only saw KISS one time, in October of '75 in the Cadillac high school gym, just before I joined the US Navy. The band was just starting to take off when that happened. The story of KISS in Cadillac is fascinating. The whole glam-rock schtick with the make-up and outfits led the band to create a vast array of collectible merchandise which sold very well and made the band a lot of money. Their live shows were filled with lots of theatrics: Gene spitting fire, Ace's guitar giving off sparks and smoke during solos, lotsa pyrotechnics throughout. The look on your face when you recognized Gene Simmons by his tongue: simply priceless!

This was a big hit during the disco era most of their stuff is a little harder but all of it is great. I saw them last year on their final tour which is still going on and ends this December they still put on a great show.

Saw them live with all original members in the makeup. It was awesome!

This was my absolute favorite band as a kid (I'm 27 now)! I highly encourage you to listen to more of their music as they had "phases" kind of. I think you'll like other songs better. Also look up their live stuff, that's what they're known for. The fire breathing, rockets, lights, "blood spitting", it's crazy. Seen it live twice.

Kiss did a Walmart commercial several years ago where they were working in the store. Pretty funny.
Kiss was primarily a rock band, but their biggest hit was a ballad, Beth.

Great video Diane! I love that you checked out KISS! I know I was one of those who suggested them! I would rather you did "Rock and Roll All Nite" but am excited you did a KISS song! The RRAN video shows them at the best in real concert! I've seen them 16 times myself in concert! An awesome experience! This song interestingly was their biggest commercial single and also is directly responsible for the original group to break up. Within 3 years of this video 2 original members left the band. They both came back for the Reunion tour in 1996, but have since left again. KISS just announced their last show as a group this December in NYC! Keep up the great work beautiful!

I'm so glad you chose to do kiss as a reaction video. I had their album a couple of years before I saw them live at memorial coliseum in Portland Oregon. I think it was around 79. I was in the second row Gene was such a beast that night. After a loud guitar solo they totally stopped all sound and lights.... And broke out into Beth.... It was so emotional! Moments I'll never forget as long as I live.

KISS is one of the best band at merchandising. There is literally KISS memorabilia of anything you can think of.
