Got this excact same model. Loving the exhaust sound of the "old" 6-speed-dsg. The newer 7-speed-dsg is very quiet.

Would you rather the Golf be made is S.A. and then VW (AG) charges us humungous prices for parts then (a la BMW 3 Series). But you do have a point, since the Jetta is made in Me-hi-co, the Quality < GOLF equivalent.

I have an 07 GTI now with 285, 000 km on the odometer. Would I buy another one? Not now as the cars available here in Canada are made in Mexico. VW gets a fail for that.
