$15,000 Kitchen Island

This wood slab kitchen island was one of my biggest woodworking projects to date. It was also my first kitchen island/woo countertop project! Made from a single piece of locally salvaged Black Walnut and the voids filled with jet black epoxy resin. This slab started out at nine feet long and over five feet wide. Rough cut by me and the final shape was precision cut by a CNC. I even decided to deliver this one personally and help with the installation. Let me know if you have any questions about the build!

Your inability to “shut up” is the reason I just subscribed. Narration is vital to explain the processes and techniques you use and I think you do it very well. Keep up the good work.

I absolutely love not being bombarded with intolerable music/sound effects/high pitch frantic commenting etc. Perfect.

I was pretty shocked when you said that people don’t like hearing your voice over. Personally I think it’s great to hear all the details and be able to get the little things out of it. 💯

I listen because A) You’re voice is soothing B) I love how descriptive you are C) even though I have 0 interest in actually doing woodwork, watching you create and making explain the process of whatever masterpiece you’re making is thoroughly interesting. D) Screw the haters lol 😂

Dont know why I was recommended this, but I sure as hell loved every moment of this.
I love your presentation style and narration.
I would love Wood countertops.
The reason people want wood is it has its own personality and it will grow old with your family.

Wood, there's just something fascinating about having one as a countertop. Still can't believe that I sat through 18 minutes to listen to a guy working on wood even though I'm not a carpenter or in any related field. I do have to admit that the commentary was fun to listen to.

Music would kill your channel. You’re the Bob Ross of wood work. No music required.

Not gonna lie I didn’t even notice that there was no music/audio besides you talking until you mentioned it.

You talking during the video, and sharing specific and detailed information on what's happening is the best part of the video. I was happy to see your reaction on those comments that criticizes it :D

Would.
Hey man, just wanted to say that as an architecture student, my favorite part about your videos is your jibber jabber. Good advice to those who disagree, but otherwise people get to not only learn about the slight perfections craftsmen have been able to accomplish over the years, but also the manufacturing process and perfecting of your technique behind said details. Love your work, you're an inspiration and a source of information for a whole lot of us out here. Thanks for everything!

I could listen to you talk all day. Great voice and you explain things in an easy to understand way. Beautiful work.

Whoever complains about your talking has never been a good student...! You're a master of your craft, even better a great teacher. Us "woodheads" loooove your "performances". This is art, I appreciate it so much. Thank you!

10 minutes into the video and it didn't even cross my mind that the entire 10 minutes has been your voice. That's kind of what I'm here for and it's wonderful!

"Would have wood!!" We had a wooden island while growing up, and after years of young children being.... Well.... Children.... The wood had dozens of marks and rings. We learned to love it, as it really just added character to our home.

This is absolutely beautiful, and looks awesome in the cabin!!

ДЕРЕВО!!!
Это очень красиво, но и очень трудно исполнимо... Классная работа! Я восхищаюсь Вашими работами. К большому сожалению мало таких мастеров как Вы.

Dude, I love your commentary. Like you pointed out, the haters can mute, but they'll miss out. I like how everything you say is thoughtful and you're not stumbling on your words like a lot of YT creators who are doing their VO on the fly. Keep talking! I'm listening and learning! I would have a wood counter top! If I could afford $15, 000 for a wood counter top, I would totally have a wood counter top!

Don't add music, I enjoy you explaining the details of what you're doing. I learn a lot from your videos, keep it up man!

Wood. Being a master carpenter of 46 years experience in Scotland, I cannot tell you how impressed I am with your work. I love your channel and presentation. And if people don't like your commentary, mute the damn thing but I do. I think it rounds the video off nice. Well done and yes, I have subscribed!
