This was the last compilation from YOYO before the millennium, and what a release. “The Messenger” alone is a good excuse for having it. This unique track starts with about 3 minutes of gentle piano notes with breakbeat, then suddenly a fast and deep 4/4 kick hits. After a while the tempo slows down and continues for several minutes until suddenly the initial piano notes come again; and when you think it’s over there's another 2 minutes of downtempo. In all 11 minutes of music that only Infected Mushroom could do from when all they released was gold dust, or almost.

But there is more on this double CD. Disc 1 starts with “Last Man in The Universe”, Yahel's melodic masterpiece, again, a track from an artist just before he changed his music to appeal to the masses. The collaboration between California Sunshine and MFG is another full-on blaster. Mystica's “Orient Express” is a tough track which some people may not like, it's quite fast and hard but I still like it. There's a track by Sandman similar in style to what he released between 1996-1998. Included also is the 1999 remix by Quirk of "X-File", another Goa classic released in 1996.

There's only one odd track here, “Oriental Mono”. It isn't Goa or Psy, looks like a wannabe melodic Techno track (watch the mix name).

Give and take some mediocre tracks and the above unfitting track this CD is still a worthwile purchase for The Messenger alone and if you are a fan of Sandman like me for STP also. Essential is not, so don’t be tempted to pay a lot for this. Just get it when price and times are right.
