On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Yeah, the computer that controls the F14's wings, was the first instances of a microcontroller in a military air craft. It took in data from various sensors and controlled the sweep of the wings based on air speed to provide the best lift to drag ratio for a given speed. Pilots did have a manual over ride (You can see this Top Gun Maverick when Mav sweeps the wings forward to take off) but its reported by some that it was not used in flight often. And yes, i know there had been electronics and "computers" in previous air craft, but this was the first instance of a microncontroller, IE a computer chip, that took in data, and based on a program controlled something in that aircraft.

One thing that might be nice for fights that only go 2 or 3 rounds or are really challenging for both pilots, maybe bring back the tacview and go over the fight with the other pilot. Go through their thoughts during the fight and get their perspective on any mistakes that you or they might have made and how that impacted the fight. Not needed for every fight but as a special treat for the interesting ones.

Would love to see you do a bandit unknown guns only while flying the Gripen. Don't think I've seen many gunfights including the Gripen. Would be interested to see how it performs vs a variety of different jets

I was always fascinated with the F14's ability to automatically adjust its wings in flight in response to the needs of the aircraft.

Another F-14 guns only dogfight! Hells to the My favorite content, always love the close quarter dancing in the sky, so much more fun and interesting than long range BVR bore-fests! (no offense to sim fans who do like BVR missions). Missles including high-off boresight dogfighting are meh in comparison, nowhere near the same skill involved as guns dogfighting.
