Reason attended the Republican National Convention to uncover who the delegates and attendees think libertarians should vote for in the 2024 election.

Former President Donald Trump spoke at the Libertarian National Convention this year to try to garner support from the crucial voting bloc, but since then, it seems that Trump has not done much in the way of winning over libertarian voters. So Reason's Emma Camp tried to see if any of his supporters could convince her.

I did like this interview. It was fair and objective--you also didn't target the dumbest people to make the other side seem incompetent. So many times an interviewer with an axe to grind will find the dumbest supporters, ask questions, then take the responses out of context

There are two types of politicians, the ones who want big government, and the ones who pretend they don't.

The last dude actually did have a decent argument. I still don't trust Trump though.

We have 4 years of data suggesting that Trump will be interventionist whenever it is politically expedient.

People often vote and identify with parties because they don't want to think about the issues.
They then must defend their identity like a narcissist defending their ego.

Trump proposed banning bump stocks. Regarding red flag laws, Trump said to confiscate the guns first and have due process later.

"There's just two parties." Yeah, and the two parties want to keep it that way.

Libertarians can’t get Libertarians to vote for Libertarians.

Talk to me when you have a platform you’re gonna agree on. 😂

One thing I've learned by watching people being interviewed about political views is that it's probably best to avoid be interviewed about politics. Too many opportunities to look dumb and uninformed or at least be cast that way. You should never talk to the police, and you should probably never talk to anyone with a microphone.

Emma thank you for doing this. As a Libertarian - who doesn't like any of the 4 running (and will not be voting for a Libertarian for the first time in 16 years), it interesting to watch. Very respectful with some great follow up questions.

What pisses me off about people who says folks should come here legally also balk at the idea of making it easier to come here legally.

Look at you guys. You're actually talking to Republicans rather than calling them names and talking at them. Good for you Emma.

I'm a libertarian and I'm not voting for Chase Oliver. I feel like Libertarians are just trying to be floating brains, trying to personify an idea as the "better men".

Are any libertarians seriously considering Biden as a better option than Trump? Or do you mean they would just rather throw their vote away (and hope they don't just get Biden by default)?

Why would Chase Oliver do better than Donald Trump. I'm not defending Donald Trump. I just don't see it.

There are already more libertarians in the Republican Party than there are in the Libertarian Party. Not all libertarians are looney tunes.

The first president to ban income tax is my pick. INCOME TAX IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND THE AMERICAN PPL ARE CONTINUALLY DECEIVED
