DIY Stock Tank Pool

We did this with a poly stock tank, so it was already blue and didn't need coating. The downside is that it has a lip around the edge that like to catch dirt, and probably won't last as long as the metal, but we'll have to see.

We use a cheap filter pump that takes the D size cartridges. It works great. I buy 2 cartridges every season and rotate them. We use 2 one-inch chlorine tablets in a floating dispenser and just replace when they dissolve.

It's a lot of fun without the astronomical electricity and chemicals used by a full size pool.

I wish I had a house so I could have one of these . I live in an apartment and yes it has a pool, in fact it has two. One big one @ the entrance and one decent size one near my unit . But there’s ALWAYS wayyy too many people in it . I’m sure they call their friends and relatives to come up there too. So I’d love to have my own home and one of these. It’s all I’d need . 😊

A filter is a must, otherwise it's a baby pool.

So why add epoxy? Just to get those micro plastics in your water?

Whats the purpose of the epoxy? It shouldn’t need it…. Unless just for appearances.

I'm in the south and that black will absorb heat and make it impossible to use the pool.

Apaxi last about 2.5 years, now its pilling, gonna need pool liner
