With the federal reserve balance sheet going back up is it time to buy call options again? We saw the massive appreciation amongst stocks and other "assets" the last time the federal reserve balance sheet increased will that happen again? The Federal Reserve added over 300 billion in assets in 1 week with the new bank lending facility in place to stave off more bank failures. FOMC meeting this week! I suspect there will be massive volatility surrounding the Federal Reserve Rate hike decision and the financial projections update.

What did you think when you saw that spike in the Federal Reserve balance sheet?

That 300 billion Bail-in is essentially QE.

Crédit Suisse is in Switzerland so not in the EU hence their central bank is not the BCE ! So they might feel this is a Swiss cheese problem

Fed will continue to raise rates imo unless banks keep failing. inflation isn’t coming down anytime soon imo

I was thinking the market was being irrational and unrealistic, but the more time I come to understand the kind of person Powell is, the more I am changing my mind. He is not Volcker and is simply too weak to do what must be done. He cannot handle the pressure. He's Arthur Burns. He'll crack and sb else will have to come in and clean up his mess a year or so from now.

The Fed can cram inflation back down but provoke a meltdown in the banking system in the process, the Fed can give up on controlling inflation and save a bunch of bad banks, or the Fed can keep on track with inflation and then chicken out when the banking system melts down and we get both. I'm not sure how to put my money on both but I think that's where we're headed.

There is no correlation between Federal Reserve balance sheet and SP500. It's a fact so why bother? FED has zero influence on markets. We had history when stocks did well when rates were rising or falling and stocks did badly when rates were rising or falling. Please stop to pay attention to FED action.
