Currently sitting on 400 WHP with my WRX stock internals. Thankfully I have a tuner that told me everything I need to know about what things I needed to keep my care from blowing. After all the performance and supporting mods that he recommended my car has had zero problems at 80k miles. Shout out to Drunkmann tuning! 😁

Bought my 17' with 16k miles and had the MAPerformance intake plus their included tune installed at 20k miles. The tune was a night and day difference from stock and made the car feel like it had some top range pull. Then went with the Invidia R400 catted exhaust and MAPerformance catted j-pipe installed (MAPerformance J-pipe included yet another free tune) and my god the car finally felt like it should have came from the factory. It finally felt like it had a consistent pull through the entire rev range and the little extra burbles and pops mixed with the intake turbo noises just puts a smile on your face. Also have the e60 map that I throw on from time to time just to have a little fun with some go-go juice but I normally don't run that tune daily. My car has now 60k miles and not a single check engine light.

MAP: yo can I copy you?
Fitment industries: yeah sure, just don’t change it up like at all
MAP: bet

Perrin shifter bushing front and rear, kartboy short shift plate, trans mount, Perrin pitch stop.. daily driver mods for my stock 2020 WRX. Cleans the car up in so many aspects with a couple hundred bucks.

And getting 33 mph on the highway is also a plus.

400WHP stock turbo, motor & trans @94k miles tuned by JR at Prime. The VA chassis & FA20DIT motor is an awesome platform.

Tuned my FA20 wrx at 2k miles and still going strong at 24k miles. I have j-pipe, intake, catback and I’m tuned on e30.

I love the Hawkeye because the front design looks so aggressive and different from the other Subaru’s.

I will never modify my base model 2017 WRX. To me the car is perfect the way it is. I'm waiting for the new 2022 STI. I can't wait to see the exterior, interior, and engine of this new beast. Thank you for making this video. I only put OEM foglights, a vortex generator and a STI shift knob on so far. Rally Armor mudflaps are next.

pros and cons of modifying an STI:
Pros
- Slightly more power
- Awesome rumble exhaust note
- Pops and bangs when downshifting if you're aftermarket dp and tune
- Awesome cornering and AWD system (with good tire set)
- fairly inexpensive compared to other vehicles in it's sector

Cons
- Still slow
- Heat soaks like a mf
- expensive as hell to squeeze good HP
- super delicate so don't hoon with it for the first 10 minutes from cold start
- expensive if you need to fix

I own one and I can say it's good and bad at the same time lol. My experience with the car is good, I haven't had major issues with the car like some other people. 2018 sti running the stage 2+ from MAP (intake and dp with stock fuel system) and it has been great, already 11K miles and going. Sucks that modifying this car is so expensive for literally 400whp. Fun to own for a few years, but good luck on the used market, these cars are ticking time bombs once modified because of the damn 4th cyl.

I did and i have the first of the first, the VA 2015 and base... I don't beat on it daily but use it and abuse it and as long as you are not on that throttle 24/7 and you KEEP UP with maintenance and not by what the car manuals say, you will be fine. Currently, mine is essentially full bolt-on at 87k and hasn't had to replace a block, rod, or anything. Just maintain it well and don't treat it like you are on the track every day.

It's a very fun car to drive. I have the world rally blue color and I get tons of compliments on it all the time. Stay safe brother 🙏.

That's why I've only upgraded the suspension and am happy with the stock WRX power. Keep my warranty and not worry about killing reliability.

Running a conservative E60 tune for almost 2 years. Stock internals, stock trans, stock IC, stock turbo, protuned 352 whp. Have not had an ounce of trouble. Great car to consider!

I STi Drivetrain swapped my '19 WRX with a MapDCCD controller, also prior modifications included a TGV+EGR Delete and dyno-tune, that fixed almost all my complaints with the car.

im at 50k miles with a invidia catted downpipe and intermediate pipe and a cobb big sf intake and i must say going stage 2+ i have had no problems at all from the ots tune. i do plan on getting a pro tune or e tune just for the longevity on the car. great car to drive.

Some people can blow up a tank. You need to know your cars limits and look after them. I change the oil and oil filter in both our cars every 5000km. Many would call that overkill, I call it cheap preventative maintenance. My old charger has close to 100, 000km in this engine and has negligible blow by.
