After a few years without dancing, remembering a routine was challenging, but nothing like viewing and practicing. I think the view after 1 minute was the clearest for me to get the steps right, and after that was just let it go with the flow. Also, then the woman steps were pretty straight forward also to memorize! Planning this one for next Valentine's... If you can't go out with Covid, well, be creative and get her a 1 hour crash course to Slow Waltz! Thanks for sharing. Yeah, it's an old video, but the content is never old! :-) Cheers!

A great little routine that I will try to learn. I've only been dancing 8 weeks and I love it. I can only do the natural half turn and box turn at the minute but I'm eager to learn more.

Good day sir Egils it's me again Gian from Philippines, I really enjoyed watching your video tutorials in waltz routine but i have a problem and I would like to ask for help on how to establish our slow waltz routines, because I find it so hard to connect those actions 'coz there are a lot of actions in slow waltz, would you give us a waltz routine that I can use for my choreography for our Private School Athletic Association contest. Thank you very much in advance sir Egils for sharing your dancing skills to us.

Hi.

I want to ask something. So... 1 and 4, 2 and 5, 3 and 6, what is the difference between them? Is it not 1, 2, 3 because they are for reverse ? Just trying to learn how counting actually works. And I read in a comment that it's about the beats that it goes 1-2-3 then 2-2-3, however I don't understand the 4, 5 & 6 yet :) I only got an idea that it might be for inverted moves, which are not the natural ones in Waltz. :)

Oh and by the way. These tutorials are the best ones. Hope to learn and practice a lot. :)

P.S.: Also a large thank you for the anime called "Welcome to the ballroom", it actually made me to try dancing again. :)

I thought coming to this video on basic Waltz would be the appropriate spot to ask this question about the rise and fall.

Question: "On steps 1, 2, there is a depression or bending downward of the legs (the fall) before the rise begins half way through step 2. How much do we bend downward?"

It seems the experienced competitors depress at the knees quite a bit.
