Thinking about buying a Triumph Bonneville T120? Here are my quick straight to the point reasons for buying a Triumph Bonneville T120 motorcycle and why you may want one as well, or not. No ads, not promos, just straight to the point. Lots of reviews give you statistics, and numbers. In this video I try to put it in plain language why I like this bike, and am happy to ride and own it, and why I feel it's a great all-around type of motorcycle. Well looks like Youtube has decided to put in ads, anyways, :( youtube.

I own a 2018 T120 and it’s my 17th bike in 41 years of motorcycling. Having ridden dual-purpose, standard, cruiser, sport and sport touring motorcycles, I would rank my T120 near the top for many of the same reasons mentioned in your video. At nearly 70 years of age my requirements for the “perfect motorcycle” have evolved, somewhat reluctantly but by necessity, with my aging body. When I began shopping for a new bike in 2018 I had narrowed down my choices to the Honda CB1100 and the T120. I owned a 1981 Honda CB750K and some of its characteristics and fond memories (touring from Virginia to Daytona for Bike Week) drew me to the new CB1100. However I have always admired the classic look of the Bonneville since the late 60’s, and one with 1200cc’s, fuel injection, cruise control, heated grips, etc., etc. looked hard to resist. I test rode both bikes back to back on the same day and the Bonny won my heart over - no contest. I now have 13, 000 miles of every kind of riding, except off-road, and dearly love this bike. I am considering the suspension upgrade, but am otherwise very content with my T120.

Nothing beats the classic look of the T120. Yesterday I had a wedding party doing pictures in the local park as the wife and I were sharing a picnic lunch. They approached us and wanted to use my T120 Black as a prop for pictures of the bride and groom. Too cool.

The format and content of your review was by far the best I’ve seen on YouTube. With regards to the T120, I think you hit the nail on the head! The only thing I can add to the plus side of the T120 equation is the nostalgia factor. When I was a kid in the 1960s, I would drool over photos of Triumph Bonnevilles in the motorcycle magazines that I read incessantly. Today, at the age of 63, I finally own one! I bought a 2022 T120 last week. The T120 is the essence of simple and pure motorcycling joy. For me, it’s also like a magic time machine that makes me feel like a 12-year-old again. Thanks again for an excellent review.

I agree completely with your assessment of the T120. It’s my third bike and by far the one I’m most passionate about. From my first test ride it just felt like the perfect bike for me. The look, the feel, the sound, the build quality and the ergonomics. To me it represents what motorcycles used to be before the market got so splintered and specialized. The T120 is just the perfect all around bike.

This is 100% my experience and feeling. I’ve had my T120 since 2016 and the trip
to work and back is usually the highlight of my day because it gets me on the bike. Just a beautiful and responsive bike to ride in the urban setting.

Really appreciated this video. I could feel your heart felt sentiment towards the T120. I'm 6 months away from my full licence here in Sydney Australia, been researching bikes for months and am very keen on Triumph as a brand and the T120 Bonneville / Scramblers in particular. And, by the way, that's a beautiful looking town you're riding around in.

I've owned my T120 since 2019, and you nailed it. When it comes to bikes, character is king. The great thing about the T120 is how it blends that character with refinement. Shifting, braking, twisting the throttle...it all feels positive and satisfying without ever crossing the line to clunky and agricultural. The stock exhaust has a lovely note without being too loud. It's comfortable. But perhaps best of all, it's sheer pleasure both fast and, more importantly, slow. Not many bikes can claim the latter.

I have just purchased a '22 T120. I'll pick it up in the morning from the dealer. I'm 67 and have been ridding since 1966, mini bikes to enduros to street bikes. I also own and ride a 2020 rocket 3r which I ride almost every day. I wanted a bike a bit smaller, more nimble for city traffic and beautiful... I intend to ride the T120 around town, errands, appointments, pleasure etc... the bike is fun to ride, reminds of my early days of bike ridding, the T120 is comfortable, light and has plenty of power. A perfect combination. :)

I have to do several long distances frequently, obviously I can’t take for that purpose the T120. But I own one and spite the fact that I don’t ride it so often as I would like to, I keep it and it’s peace of art and machinery that will always fascinates me, like the first time I saw it at the dealership and asked if it was available to buy and it was. I almost felt at that moment a belonging feeling that never sensed with other bikes. A connection that owning the bike was confirmed with enormous strength till today. It’s easy, it’s responsive, it’s relaxing it’s strong and solid. Overall, more than just a bike. I hope that I can do well enough to never have the need to sell my T120.
Thanks for the video. It tells a lot of what this fantastic machine is about and translates thoughts that I share and have related to my experience as a biker on a T120. ✌️✌️

Hands down the best bike I ever owned. My other ride is a 1974 BMW R75/6, which practically rides itself. This bike is even better, and has all the styling and performance one craves. Thumbs up. It's a classic.

Awesome video. Thank you for your honest review. I had a special edition 2015 t214. I loved it, knowing when I bought it, that it was last year for many things, it was air cooled, 5 speed, and the shifting was clunky. I added a small dart shield to help break the wind, and an LED headlamp, that was needed.
I sold her this summer and invested the money, and just last week bought the T120 Bud Ekins special edition. It's in Iowa, and I'm going to take the train from Boston to Iowa, and ride her home. I'm ready for the adventure, and happy to have my new upgraded Triumph !

Yes, I agree! riding a 2018 T120 and it's perfect! I sold all my bikes after I suffered a stroke. It wasn't clear if I could get back on a bike? Now I worked my way back from walking, to bicycle to motorcycle. Having the wind in my face makes me happy and the T120 is my choice to feel the wind :-) The T120 is just the perfect all around bike. I am grateful ....

not thinking about but have and let me tell you time is not flying. put a deposit on it a month ago and still have to wait a couple of weeks and it feels like forever. apart from the new tech it is the same bike as i had at 18 years old, a 69 bonnie, same deep red and silver, same feel as i sat on it in the showroom apart from the weight. i did'nt even have a test ride, you know when something is right for you. i couldn't get rid of the grin on my face and it's still there as im writing this. the wife got very ill just before covid and still is, i have been looking after her for nigh on 2years now and my 60/70s music has seen me through and now my 1969/2022 bike is just reward. luckily my pension cash came just at the right time. i started on bikes at 13 and haven't ridden one for 30ish years but im certainly going to finish on one. roll on the summer.
