Every Minecraft player has a skin, but not every player knows where the first skins came from. Minecraft's history has had millions of skins, but where did they all start? After a long week of research, we may have an answer. This is the search for Minecraft's lost first skin.

Since I know this is going to be a very common comment...

Steve doesn't really count as the "oldest skin in Minecraft, " at least, not to me. It wasn't even made for Minecraft, it was made for the human character in a previous game called "Zombie Town." So, I decided to exclude Steve from the search so that we could have this video instead!

Nicely done! Because I started playing in 2012, the option to add custom skins was always available to me and so I didn't consider what the first one would be. Because it's a very community-driven game, it is nice to see that players have always had a hand in making Minecraft what it is today

If I were to make a guess, AnnihilatorBeta's skin is based off of Quote from Cave Story, with the white skin, black shirt and hair, red pants and the blue, spaced out eyes like on his sprite.

Holy cow that’s crazy!
So one of the first few uploads of Minecraft to the internet on the day Notch released it to the fourm was a primitive pixel art of 8-bit Mario.
And now we see that in the short hours that Notch released custom skin options, the first ever recorded skin in Minecraft was a Mario skin. Mario was the catalyst for both Skins and Minecraft itself, he is so vital to this games history
