⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Brand-New R211As Testing on the West End Line

Here, we see a newly-delivered set of R211A cars undergoing initial tests on the middle track of the West End Line. Note the fact that the train was signed for D and B service - it's certainly likely that the R211As will see service on those lines in the future. Enjoy!

If tjey put the R211A'S on the B & D lines that would be AWESOME

Yesterday, few R211A has finally entered service on C line, and B & D could likely be the next one to get R211s as whole 6th Ave line is preparing for an CBTC installation

With all the recent testing of R211A, with no open gangway between cars, and while the C only has two R211T sets in service with an open gangway, this begs the question: *where are the new R211Ts?*

The R211 trains have a similar sign to the vintage trains.

It’s a shame that I missed it completely especially that I just ride the D train today

So finally the D line won't have to deal with any more R68s in the future I'm guessing?

So far, we have 27 full R211A sets in service on the A and C right now.

The R211A will likely go for the D for the Option 1 Order after the C. Then it will go to other lines with 2/3 categories. The D has Aging of Cars and High Ridership.

It would be interesting to see them run on Sixth Avenue, however, I don't know if Sixth Avenue is getting CBTC.

One thing I personally dislike is the default use of Kathleen Campion's voice for "The next stop is ... " and "This is ... " announcement. I understand that this is done for the conservation of storage space, but it's very out of place, because the B and D lines primarily use Catherine Chowdery's voice.

Another thing is that while Concourse's R68's would be transferred to Coney Island, the MTA is prioritizing on Broadway CBTC in its 2025-2029 capital plan. This is quite surprising but also can pose difficulties, because all other 'B' division lines would have CBTC (supposing if Sixth Avenue gets it) which would make it much more difficult to temporarily displace R68's during Broadway CBTC testing, though it might not matter at the end of the day since they would be replaced with the future's R268's.

I have ridden the West End line my entire life. Over 60 years. The newest cars are almost never sent there. I doubt we will see any 211's in regular service on the D any time in the foreseeable future.

Wow this one is very much memorable for when the Melanite brother used to be a Seamark psychosocial club house member in the urban section of Gravesend when the R42s was still in service recall on a daily basis so seeing the R211As been tested along the West End line is definitely a excepational good regiment that both the R68As will share with the R211As .😊😊😊😊
