In the second half of our look at the endocrine system, Hank discusses chemical homeostasis and hormone cascades. Specifically, he looks at the hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis, or HPT axis, and all the ways your body can suffer when that system, or your hormones in general, get out of whack.

It's a shame that I learn more watching these well produced videos than I do in my college courses. I wish my professors had as much enthusiasm as the host of these videos. Regardless, well done. Subscribed and will donate via patreon!

This channel is absolutely AMAZING ! Every time I am introduced to an Anatomy concept in class I go on here the day after and take extra notes. This is usually when I get my 'AHA' moments and things come together. I recommend you to all of my friends ! Thank you for the free help, you have no idea how much I appreciate it !

Dear CrashCourse, thank you so so so much. I have just been accepted to study biology, my biggest passion, in the University of Helsinki, and in some ways it's thanks to you. This year there was an entrance exam of five essays and one of them was about nefrons and how the body regulates their functioning and I believe that mostly because i had just watched your videos about kidneys and hormones and the nervous system, I freaking aced it. I hope that you see this and can feel my enermous gratitude for helping me get in to university so that in a few years I can become a researcher and save the planet. I'll thank you again in my Nobel victory speech.

As someone with Grave's Disease, I learned more about my own illness here, at CrashCourse, than I ever did at my endocrinologist's office. Thanks CrachCourse!

These videos have helped me more than any anatomy class. In fact, my professors usually attach these videos. It's almost like they're like "i know what I said makes zero sense. Go listen to this guy while I collect my check"

superlunk.

10 minutes video? Spending 1h to 2h to write a proper mind map of the videos... such good course!

As someone who has been living with thyroid crap for ten years (mostly underactive, sometimes overactive) this video is refreshing. Hopefully it will help someone else.

I had Graves and was able to bring my thyroid levels down to normal through dietary changes. It took 4 months to bring the numbers down and one year to bring them to normal. Now, I do periodic testing.
