I think Steve will like his grandkids much better when they are at least 5 years old and not so needy and dependant on adults.

For example, I myself prefer kids that are at least 3 months old. Younger than that, just seem to cry on and on for no damn reason whatsoever. They often are inconsolable and scream when they cry. Older babies communicate with caregivers better and once you fix the problem they are having... they stop crying! My favorite kids are middle school age. They are not as whiny as elementary and not as bad ass as high school. They are very interesting conversationalists!
