You should definitely try All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr or Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys or The Book Thief by Markus Zusak! They're all incredible historical fiction! 🤩

The Nightingale was the first book to ever make me cry - it was on Christmas Day, at 1am, and there I was, all snuggled up in bed, sobbing.

The Nightingale is one of the best HF novels I have ever read. After reading it, I started binging Kristin Hannah’s books and have loved each of them... so far. I you liked the WWII setting, I recommend Winter Garden by her. All the feels. Russia instead of France. It’s phenomenal.

The nightingale did the same to me, I wasn’t into historical fiction before reading it and now I find myself wanting to read more because of that book. I absolutely loved it.

Vianne's storyline in The Nightingale was the most incredible part for me.As much as I love Isabelle, I just saw myself in Vianne and her actions so much.I would advise anyone with a heart, to read this book.

Maybe do a reread of one of your favorites as a palette cleanser for the beginning of the year?

Great wrap up Gabby! I’m disappointed to hear Daisy and the Six wasn’t that great. I just read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo this month and was really hoping for something great to read next from TJR.

Glad u enjoyed the Nightingale, i had listened to that on audible which made it a bit traumatic to listen to (gunfire and all). Im glad you enjoyed Sometimes I Lie. I did too, it kept me entertained, was a page turner, and it did shock me at the end.
As for historical fiction, thats one of my favorite go to genres. If you want a shortish story told via charming letters try The Guernsey and Potato Peel Literary Society. Damn i mightve gotten the title a lil botched. I find that any sorry that has books or libraries or letters in them are just charming. Its about and English island occupied during ww2 and how the townspeople used their literary society to communicate and rebel and find solace during the war. It never gets too gruesome but its just a charming lil story that you might enjoy.

So glad you finally read The Nightingale, one of my favorites books ever, if you want to try another historical fiction, you should read Winter Garden also by Kristin Hannah. Love your channel. :)

Btw, a great historical fiction book is “the storyteller” by jodi picoult! It’s about WWII since you mentioned you were interested in that!

Hi Gabby! I picked up Renegades because that was this booktuber's top 1 book of 2018 but it caused me to an audiobook slump. It was just meh. I love badass women characters but Nova...uhm. i don't know. Maybe it was too hyped? It was nice hearing your thoughts about it. I just finished 5 books this Jan but 12? I admire you! Btw, I would love to know your current audiobook faves! :) (new vid idea.lol)
