As a former employee of Chipotle I can say that yes, they really do put less food in there because of the fact that the person isn’t there to witness it.😂 me personally tho I always hooked everyone up, cause most of the people there were stingy😭

This is totally true, I’ve order multiple times online with double meat and it’s come with only a single portion. I’ve just decided not to give them my money anymore.

i used to work at chipotle and at least at my location we were understaffed and always had a main focus on the main line so our digital line sometimes wouldn’t have anybody on it

I worked at chipotle. The reason you get more food when you’re in line is because most employees don’t want to deal with customers in their face getting mad about small portions. The portions you get online are usually closer to what we were trained to give. Don’t blame the workers, they aren’t the ones making portion sizes, if employees are too generous they often get yelled at by management.

I usually go order food in the store. I rarely use drive through.

As a chipotle worker I'm sorry guys that sometimes the online orders are lacking. We have so many orders coming in at once on the online that it can get crazy if your crew is inexperienced. It also doesn't help if we are short that day. I always recommend going through the line for your best bowls/burritos.

I'm an area manager for a small chain of restaurants. This is very common for restaurants on Uber eats. We have to sell our food to Uber at a 22% discount, if the meal is $10, Uber pays $7.80. We run on small profit margins and food cost is paramount. We give you about 20% less food to compensate for the cost adjustment. The restaurants aren't screwing you over so much as Uber is screwing the restaurants.

I ordered online a few months ago, and they completely messed up the order. Half of the stuff I ordered wasn’t even there. When I complained about it the person who helped me was very understanding and even completely remade my order and added extra stuff to my order for free.

Chipotle tip: if you get double protein in store ask for it after the first scoop is on. If not they'll skimp on the first scoop.

I DoorDash and I've noticed a while ago while waiting. That when they make orders when the person isnt there is. The orders are way smaller.

It should be the same regardless you order online or in person. Consistency is the key

As a member of the food service community, if you order online during lunch or dinner, your order will not be made until either you show up or the orders inside have been taken care of. You have to think of it this way. If you are a customer in the store and you see employees making stuff for people that ordered online, you would be upset. Some stores have people designated to handle online orders but most fast food places that aren't fully staffed aren't going to make the online orders right away. Another reason for that is sometimes people will order to pick up at 12:45 and not pick it up till 1:00. So the food is sitting where online orders set. I've had more than one occasion where online orders have set for 15 or 20 minutes past their pickup time and then we get a call saying the food was cold and they want us to remake it. Ask for portioning, at least where I work portions are the same size.

Never had either issue. Order online, get there, it’s ready, usual portion, always right. Best of all, don’t have to wait in a line.

The crowd inside chipotle is why i order through the app 😂

Former employee here, you're getting less because we're more accurate with the portions for online because there's no customers watching us most places

Sort of same topic but in the drive thru vs get down debate, always go drive thru. Especially if the line is long. Worked at McDonald's before and our main focus was always the drive thru line because management said it makes the restaurant look bad when there is a line out side and nobody can see the lines inside.

Working in the deli at Publix I know sometimes online orders take longer because the guy in line staring you down holds a lot more guilt than a piece of paper hanging off a printer, it just goes like that sometimes, especially if the place has a line of in-person customers.
