Robert Telles faces trial for the murder of Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German. After German wrote several articles about Telles, a public administrator at the time, he was found stabbed to death outside his home in September 2022. Prosecutors claim Telles’ DNA was found under German’s fingernails. Telles has pleaded not guilty and says he was framed for the murder.

This is ridiculous, a newborn kitten could hear the evidence and find Telles properly guilty within a day. It’s simply not that hard of a case—the evidence is overwhelming

This is what happens when we collectively sensationalize these trials. A juror will hold out for notoriety and a paycheck. Imagine the interviews, the books deals, etc coming in to the juror voting not guilty. Expect to see much more of this behavior

I think the jury is taking their job too seriously. There is going over the evidence, and then there's replaying the entire trial again in the deliberation room like I assume the jury is doing 😑

What matters is the verdict, not the amount of time it takes. I know everyone thought it was going to be a quick decision, but the jury may just want to be thorough. It is easy for us commenters to have our minds made up, but for a jury who is presumably hearing all this for the first time, it is a lot of information to digest. They have not indicated to the judge that there is any sort of deadlock.

A man faces the rest of his life in prison, so the jury should be thorough. I think the prosecution proved their case, and they will come to the right conclusion. We would all want a conscientious jury if we or our loved ones were ever in trouble. Be patient.
