The Edge's (U2) chiming riffs in 'With Or Without You'

Edge's guitar parts sound like lots of bell ringing one after another (I know delay), he has his own way of expression with lots of reverb, sustain & delay, not forgetting his simple and melodious guitar riffs. ✌🏻

A lot of people like to give guys like Edge, Steve Miller and all the guys among that style of music shit because what they played wasn’t that hard or intricate. Personally those songs that have a crushing and cruising set of basic chords going through em are far better pieces of music than a sectional solo or extended melody part, And I’m a guitar player for crying out loud😂😂

It's easy to shit on him nowadays, but we shouldn't overlook what he brought to the table. He definitely created his own sound. Master of tone, "a sonic architect" as Jimmy page describes him in that documentary and i think his approach of playing a few but the right notes is something every guitarist can learn from, regardless of genre and style. Nothing is for everyone, but don't be dismissive.

For those wondering he’s using one of those picks that has the grippy bumps that are almost sharp to grip your skin, he flips it around and uses the grip bumps on the strings to get that raspy bell like sound.
