Hey senior, I love your video on that CR 500 putting out a half a lot of horsepower but I just read and heard that’s a great legend. Malcolm Smith had passed away. My heart and sorrows are with his family and I hope the biker community feels the same way rest in peace Malcolm, if this is true, I believe he was 83 years old.❤

Reminds me of the best Thanksgiving day, 1982 we tore up the trails through Plymouth MA. with Dick Bettencourt riding his CR480 me and my friends on our 82 PE175's and about 5 others. I bought my 86 CR500 from Bettencourts early 86 and raced Southwick and Middeboro at the end of the year.
2 strokes and turkey, friends and family!

I don't know what is wrong with Honda that they are not making a 500 two-stroke. They would sell out very quickly and bury the four strokes tenfold. Who cares if they can't be raced at national motocross events?

If Honda made the CR500 new in 2024, this would be your CR500RWE edition. A solid 10hp more than a CRF450RWE and 40% more torque.

I don't think the tranny and rear wheel bearings of a dirt bike soak up 12% (over 7hp). I think 12% is more in line with a car drive train average. I also know there is no real good calibration for dyno's, as you can take that bike to different dyno's across the nation and get a pretty big variance.
But it is a nice and powerful bike for sure. Very nice build, and tuned well. You guys are the best dealer in the world IMO, when it comes to great bikes of the past. Kudos.
