I think what totally gets overlooked in these comments is that not only is that engine amazing, but the rest of the bike looks amazing as well. That deep red, the graphics and the seat etc etc... What a machine.

89 Was the second of my 6 CR5OOS ..My 97 Was my last and I still own it and that was my favorite one.. I have thousands of hours on that bike and nothing has ever broke.. Aside from just routine maintenance the engine is just how I bought it and still runs... It's a miracle. Those bikes are so awesome.. My plan is to have it restored...

That power delivery is EXPLOSIVE!!! Even on pavement that was very impressive. I've had quite the share of 'large engine for that bike' cycles with the last two being a Kawasaki KLR650 and a Suzuki M109R. But the biggest 2 stroke I had was a '79 Suzuki RM250 (maybe around 1986ish). I never though of getting a 500 until now that I am 55 and would probably kill myself with it LOL!
