BOSS gtcore team should thank you. this isn't only helpful for the morningstar users but to all the clueless gtcore users boss team cared less about us users on the midi world

This is amazing! Please consider making a video with the boss RC500 looper, on how to use the Morningstar devices as a remote controller!

Tonal satisfaction is directly related to the amount of programming I need to do.

Thank you very much for this useful and well done video! Note this also works the same way for the newer Boss VG-800.

got a gt core 1000. this is the most helpful video for setting up midi on this product. I use the principles in this video to set up an Ampero Control (4 button) with it.

Awesome video, thanks. They made it as easy as can be, yet didn't explain it well in the manuals. They likely figured it was foolproof and didn't need explained. I'm going to setup my Boss MS-3 to switch stuff with my Boss GT1000 Core and Synergy Syn-2 preamps. The presets on the MS-3 will switch channels, current number option will switch between clean and gain channels, while manual mode will switch effects on/off.

Great, just what I wanted. Just got a GT-1000 core and am thinking about neat way to expand on it.

Thank you for this demo. I am contemplating getting an MC6 to use with my Boss GT 1000Core but would like more demos before investing.
Thanks

It's a lot, but it's not too bad based on your explanation. Thanks!

So I've been researching (and buying) MIDI controllers to run my GTCORE. From what I've experienced thus far, other offerings (and i won't even say "low cost offerings, " because Morningstar prices are super reasonable), none of them make it as straightforward as this. Just need to decide on which one.

I have discovered one thing that is a limitation with the MC controller editor. The Gt1000 has 4 banks of presets which you can use up to 128 patches per preset, however the editor does not offer a bank number setting. So you can't switch between the banks. The user banks are 1 and 2 the factory presets are on banks 3 and 4. The only work around is to move the factory presets you like to the first 127 patches. It kinda sucks.... really being that the editor is super advanced and lacks just 1 thing that acts as an identifier for the program change feature of the gt1000 series.

Awesome tutorial! I got this far on my own, but this video would have saved me a lot of time. I was wondering if you could explain (if it’s even possible) how to control GT-1000core functions with SysEx commands. There’s a big MIDI Implementation chart from Boss, but I can’t figure it all out. 😩 All I want is a preset on my MC3 to globally switch between Manual Mode and Patch Mode without having to assign a control button to it in every single patch.

I had to disable the distortion and put a distortion pedal threw the return. All these you beaut effect boards. Still have along way to go.

Cool, you guys should do something with Fractal FM3. It's hard to find content with external MIDI for Fractal. Usually is with their own controllers.

Maybe I can leave the CORE in Manual mode and use the MC3 to patch up and down? I just have no idea how to do that. Can anyone help with that?

Got the MC3 today. Works great guys! Thank you - Perhaps you can help.if I want to go into the manual mode, I need to kick down (Up Arrow + CTL1) to go into the manual mode. To do so sometimes I have to turn my foot at different angles, and if my foot isnt perfectly level, I could be pressing only the UP ARROW and changing the preset. Its no fun switching into an unexpected patch in the middle of a song. Think its possible to assign one controller switch to enter manual mode?

Hi guys, I'm already using the midi from a RC-500 for tempo on delays. Is there a way to use this via USB or is there a midi through that would pass the data through? Many thanks for this

It can receive signals from outboard MIDI devices. Could it take a signal from another Boss unit with USB? It’s January 2024 as I comment, and I’m thinking of purchasing Core soon. My present modeler is another Boss unit, the ME-80. Could it be used as a foot switch controller for Core using the USB ports?

Hi Morninstar,

I really need your assistance. I have the Morningstar mc6 MKII and GT1000 core. What cable I have to use to connect them? Thank you so much in advance! Appreciate that
