You can also use a handcrank to start it up if you connect the pump to the steam engine. Just make sure that the handcrank is on a LARGE cog, not a small one. Since the larger one’s rim travels a further distance than a small one, it make the pistons spin fast enough to start steaming.

Now make it.. smaller. I've got a water wheel powered design that's 2x2 but only 4 blocks tall. (Not counting blocks used to retain water)

Instead of 2 cogwheela to power the mech pump, use a large one, it's a shaft cheaper and it will make the mechanic pump go twice as fast

i dont really remember how to make a steam engine because my mincraft got really old. and i cant use it rn.
so here is some basic info: you need to place a shaft 3 blocks away. i think? and then add a steam engine on top or beside it.

its not working for me. i built it the exact same but water just isent pumping into the boiler. when i put normal fluid tanks down the water pumps just fine so its its not the pump.

what if after connecting a mechanism, for example (mixer), an overload occurs ?
