Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) is actually a cherimoya relative, but is deciduous and hardy up to Canada, though largely found in the SE US😀

I have one here in Switzerland in the Southern part. I never knew about this plan until I went into United States and I found out about it. When I came back somehow I managed to get a plant but it was really hard as here it’s unknown. By far my favourite!!!!

The main reason that Pawpaw, a native to North America is not popular and widely grown is that it has a shelf life of only days and ships poorly.

Can’t wait to try some, we planted a few saplings in years past - but are still too young for fruiting. 😢

I have 3 pawpaw mangos in Poland, but it's too young to transfer it from the pots into the ground and I'm not sure I'll ever dare to do that. It grows so slowly, that after 10 years those will be my dearest babies and my house will probably need to accept living with grown up trees overwinter lol
