Broken Banana Tree Survives and Rare Bananas Ripen ~ Delicious!

The rare banana tree or stem was broken in a bad storm and here is what happened. The bananas continued to ripen despite the appearance of the pitiful banana plant.
The Ele Ele Banana also called Royal Hawaiian Purple banana variety rarely fruits here in South Carolina, but when it does, I'm always thrilled. But this year, a violent microburst 'gustnado' wrecked the Ele Ele and broke the trunk or stem. I did not cut it down, however! The delicious fruit ripened and the bananas were awesome!

Did you see your pup Cassidy King. It is ready!

We have one big clump of plants that grew out of a new cavendish that we planted last year. It's healthy but no fruit. Should we divide up the plant early next spring when it starts to grow again? Located in Hanahan.

Just had Hurricane Ian pass through central Florida. Our ice cream banana tree had fruit on it but was blown down. It’s not in 2 pieces the top is still connected to the base but the center is not connected. Will the bananas ripen if I pick the top half off the ground and place it on a saw horse and still leave it connected to the bottom? This is our first time trying to grow bananas. You help would be appreciated. .
