Our new pediatric ED mini-lab opened for business yesterday. This is a training video for our nursing staff, but we also wanted to share our latest USA Health innovation, a rapid viral (and strep) testing lab in our pediatric ED triage area next to the waiting room. We are using the Abbott ID Now testing machines.

Something they aren't teaching in Nursing school. Thank you for another educational video! ❤

My Rapid came back negative. My PCP automatically did another test and sent it off. This test took almost 2 days for the results and it came back positive. Trust me I felt Covid-19.

If I wanted to get one for the ER, who is the credentialing body that has to approve us using one? The lab takes way too long. We used to do our own flu swabs with a very similar instrument.

You know this is sad that you got this video done by a nurse. Larry, perhaps you could show case the other profession that was impacted by covid.. Medical laboratory scientists and respiratory therapist. Not disparaging nurses just pointing out that my professions almost never gets mentioned... Even when it's their area of expertise. Yes, covid tests are currently waived due to eua... But there is also some issues with that..
