Odisha Train Accident Updates: The cause of the catastrophic triple train collision in Odisha's Balasore, that claimed 288 lives and injured over 1,000 people, has been identified and will be revealed soon in a report, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Sunday.

The “Management of Change” (MoC) process that must have been undertaken prior starting new projects to ensure changes are being made in a “safe and controlled manner”should be examined. Lack of a robust MoC procedure does also contribute to root cause(s).

What Mamata said, there is no "anti collison device" installed in these trains. And it makes sense also. Had there been anti-collison-device, this accident could have been avoided.


Whatever explanation you guys give now, still cant confirm wheather driver applied brakes or not. In close proximity, brakes should have been automarically activated .

Now you guys will blame "Point-Man" or "Relay malfunctioning" etc. But the truth is something else.

First resign from rail ministry, issue a public apology, and then start giving interview.

Good thumb-rule to arrive at the root cause is to ask “why” 5 times and the answer to the 5th “why” is the root cause.
Also the buck always travels up the ladder to “lack of supervision”, lack of training”, “lack of competency” etc etc. and NOT down to field staff who are only associated with “immediate cause” and never the “root cause”.

Rail is not going to fulfill their promises. Relative s are paying 15-20 thousand rupees to bring back dead bodies at home. Rail promises to send accident victims body free of cost. No assistance available from Rail.
Pl look into this issue.
