Great base concept, I used this on my own game however, I found a couple of issues with using it and had to make a couple of adjustments; first I changed out the L2 Piston for a pair of L5 Pistons for maximum speed for faster crushing and medium to high level raids, I also set the timer down to 250milliseconds to make the crusher faster; second I found that a 3 block wide crush pad wasn't big enough and some enemies, mostly Haybots, could attack the bumper and not get crushed; to solve this I extended the crush pad to by one block on either side making it a 5 block width; third this issue came due to the increased size of the crush pad, enemies could now ride the crush pad to circumvent being squashed; to solve this I went into creative for a bit of testing, I built the base version of this and then put a secondary bumper and stomper above the first, so that if enemies managed to get on top of the first crusher they'd still have a second crusher to destroy them, although I have yet to actually implement this last bit in my survival save as more testing is still required.

Excellently simple and effective setup!

So an update as to how I ended up fixing bots being able to ride the Crush pad to get over/around it, on the block directly above the piston make another pad that's the same size as the crush pad, any enemies that get the bright idea to try and ride the crush pad will get sandwiched between the retracting crush pad and it's new roof, it's highly effective against Totebots and Haybots, Tapebots though will try to shoot it, so I recommend keeping the farm relatively small.
Bonus Tips: Raids can be triggered with just a handful of crops, the types of crops along with the amount being planted or still growing determines the raid level; also once a "Raid Level" has been decided it gets locked in at that level, this means that by planting a handful (about half a stack of seeds) of carrots early in-game time (open the logbook with 'L' the in-game clock is on the left ((by early I mean from 1AM-3:50AM in-game))) and then waiting for the "Unauthorized Farming Detected" message, you can then continue planting after getting that message; the 'Unauthorized Farming Detected' message starts the timer and always triggers just after 4AM in-game time, that message is also accompanied by a scan (unseen by the players since its just code) that checks what types of fruits/vegetables the player/players have planted, how many were planted, and then determines an appropriate raid level in response however, since the scan only happens once and this is what we can take advantage of; by planting only carrots in a small number we can trigger only a low level raid between 1-3, the Raid Level once determined is LOCKED IN, so we can immediately go right back to planting even more crops of a higher value making sure to fertilize ALL of the crops, and when the raid comes we'll only have to deal with the usual Totebots and Haybots, just make sure that your entire farm is ready to harvest before the next 'Unauthorized Farming Detected' message shows up and you won't need to worry about raids too much.

I still like to call this design the "Woody Wacker". It's the best mid game farm defense I have seen that you can build at a low resource cost.

Sensor based crush o matic. The staple of any non tier 3 farm <3

Great video!
I have a problem, I can't link the sensor to the gate as shown in the video at 2:30 .. I can't link the sensor to anything actually. What am I doing wrong?

Woody mate, just use a sport suspention, a level 5 piston on max settings connected to a sensor, easy man's version

Is this what you were using in your streams? I can't remember much other than me losing all my points on some gambling game in chat...

This only works on small monsters, but larger monsters are very difficult :v

Thank you for the video! I had a question as if the walls were attacked from the side, the sensers wont be triggered. What do you do for the corners?

just one other question before I destroy the first farm. I made mine about the same size as yours in the video but is there a limit to the size like lets just for example say I wanted to make a 50x50 or 100 x 100 farm maybe extreme but makes the point. Can I make this same set up with the same mechanical supplies with only the wood/stone needing more or is there a limit to the farm size with this set up?? I know you said no limit on the censors distance.

I created the easy man's version when trying to build a farm defence and cavalry reflecting this video!

Cool way to defense your base but what do you fo if you have a 300 plots farm? :)) cause the pistons aren t that powerfull

whats about with the censor range? I got to the part where I am trying to hook up the censors to the logic gate and the connections not possible. Was this changed since the video came out?? It seems though if the connections close then it hooks but if it's close for 2 then it's far away for the other 2 and can't connect those 2 censors

i have a question, why can't you connect just 1 piston for all sides

But what if the spine of a hay bot or the head of a tote bob gets under… won’t it not work fully?

I followed everything but it still didn't work. When the sensor triggers all it does is turn on the nor gate that was off and turn off the nor gate that was on and when the sensor turns off it reverts back to the initial nor gate being on and the other nor gate being off again. did I do something wrong?

It seems my pistons went down and for some reason when the bumpers are pushed it comes up and then back down and stays down .. I can't figure out what I did wrong ... it was after I pushed the reset button it went all crazy ..

could use that for a decent potato farm
