A lot of wrestlers get addicted to painkillers especially those on the indies.. the 80’s and 90’s was the worse for it

Once you get hooked it's a long and hard road so sad.

Addiction is horrible but withdrawal can kill you too. I'm glad he was able to get better. I can relate. Kurt is great!

Painkillers are tricky, the bummer is you do have to go through withdrawals if you delay taking it when you are supposed to so you take it even when you aren’t in pain. When you are addicted to the high then you are tempted to take more than necessary. I’m at the point now where I feel nothing when I take Vicodin, it’s rare that I take it now since I switched to codeine but I’m sure I’ll get to that point with that as well. I’m in a lot of pain everyday and it sucks basically building your day around the need to take your medication.

I can say from experience im dealing with a codine painkiller addiction atm an its very true what hes saying I started at 1-2 a day now im on 6-8 in one go. Sometimes if use three doses a day for the next 2-3 days my liver an stomach are in pain an its sucks but thats calmness an no thought 5-6 hours are worth the pain in your head.

Same with me. You don't think anything about it until you realize how sick you got when you stopped taking them. Then you take more hoping to taper down but the self control won't allow you to taper. I was taking the same amount.
My regret on top of that was that the detox doctor changed from getting everyone clean to getting everyone on Suboxone instead. I've been on Suboxone for over 12 years. Withdrawals keep me on it and doctors prefer it that way so that you don't get back on the hard stuff again. But it just replaced one for another.
I have lived in a cloud since then. I've done nothing with my life since.

Pain usually exists for a reason. It's your body screaming at you that it either needs repairs or you shouldn't be doing something that you're doing. Any time you ignore that, it's at your peril.

Vicodin has acetaminophen in it. So if you're taking 65x500mg of acetaminophen then you're literally poisoning yourself. Your liver can only take 1000mg or 1 gram per day. Mad respect to kick and get clean. My heart goes out to anyone out there still suffering too. Things get better if you stay strong and commit to change. Love and respect

I'm having the same problem just now.
I've got numerous injuries but a couple of years ago I developed bone poisoning in my foot, then leg.
Its one of the most painful diseases known to man.
I was given oxycodone to deal with the pain which I had never taken before. They were amazing. They took alot of my pain away and gave me some dunt.
I've not been able to come off them though . It wouldn't be so bad but I've also got addictions to pregablin and codeine too. And its the amounts I've been taking.
I've trained for the past 20 years but the painkillers are now starting to affect the amount I train and the intensity csuse I'm scared of a heart attack.
Yeah I know I need to stop taking them but when you've got serious pain its not so easy I'm afraid.
Stay strong everyone💪 my heart goes out to anyone in similar circumstances ❤💯

I agree with Kurt on this one. I’m fortunate enough to be living a clean life since December 9, 2018. However, the things that I’ve done in the past will forever weigh heavily on me.
