Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) navigate running the third oldest professional football club in the world. Welcome to Wrexham is a docuseries tracking the dreams and worries of Wrexham, a working-class town in North Wales, UK, as two Hollywood stars take ownership of the town’s historic yet struggling football club.

In 2020, Rob and Ryan teamed up to purchase the 5th tier Red Dragons in the hopes of turning the club into an underdog story the whole world could root for. The worry? Rob and Ryan have no experience in football or working with each other. From Hollywood to Wales, from the pitch to the locker room, the front office to the pub, Welcome to Wrexham will track Rob and Ryan’s crash course in football club ownership and the inextricably connected fates of a team and a town counting on two actors to bring some serious hope and change to a community that could use it.

The docuseries is produced by Boardwalk Pictures.

He just seems like a level headed dude, ya know? He’s kind and giving, a caring person- caring individual. Uh, in reality he's just very very kind and caring and a giving person. Um, he's constantly giving, and caring about each other, like, so when he's in a working situation, he’ll be working, and caring, and giving, and like not only working and fighting- eh never fighting, but also caring, like, he's always giving. You know what I mean? Like, i- ya know if I’m like, “Oh, you know, I feel like this match should go this way, ” and Ryan will be like, “I’m gonna give you that, and- and I care about you, you know, because I think that’s- that’s- I don’t think that’s the right thing to do, but um, I’m gonna- I’m gonna care for you in a way that I’m gonna give that up, because I care about you.” So like it’s a very, like um, like giving persona, you know what I mean? Like, he's not all not caring, like- ‘cause he cares about each other, I think. You know what I mean? Like- and he has obviously known each other for- for years now, we’ve been working together for a while, so, I guess- I guess, um, you know like, he's always just giving, um, and I care about that guy, and I think he- I think he genuinely cares about me, too. Ya know what I mean? And I think it’s easier to give things up for people that you- that you care about, ya know what I mean? People that you know, that you trust
