My great grandparents use to sing this song and at The old time prayer meetings in Jamaica. I was young child but I remember the chorus, they used to sing it with fortitude, robustness, determination, strength and belief in CHRIST JESUS.
They would sing the Chorus maybe, I don’t really know but many many times many times and the brothers and sisters in Christ Never murmured or grumbled about singing the chorus so many times. I guess they knew that a Brother or Sister had faltered, fall down, yield to temptation or whatever the case maybe and this song and chorus was sang to revitalise them spiritually. They knew that if 1 person is wounded it affected the whole group.
May their souls all rest in peace in the arms of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
