Well, Ryobi, who currently offers over 75 products on their 40V platform, and a ridiculous 260 products on their ONE + platform, just announced a 3rd battery platform. Why not. Let’s go.

RYOBI just announced their all-new USB Lithium System. The platform features a variety of compact, portable, and rechargeable solutions. The platform only offers a single battery, the USB Lithium 2Ah Lithium-ion Battery, which is compatible with all the new USB Lithium Tools they’re launching. And before we get into the tools, yes, it charges with USBC, because it’s not 2013 anymore, Milwaukee.

Here I am wanting a cordless die grinder that actually has any beans... and it's a Dremel tool. Okay this next one though, look at that, gotta be a...power carver? Alright, meet me in the ally out back Ryobi!@

Couldn’t agree more. The power cutter is the most exciting for me too! 🙂✌️❤️

I like them! Perfect little things for crafts and hobbies in the house when you don't need their big brothers. Power cutter is an easy buy. And with USB C who cares about run time when you have a charger already in every room and probally right at the desk you are working at. Use it, plug it in.

Newer version of the TEK4 battery, but with usbc charging instead of the charger you have to plug it into. Anyone remember Black and Decker VersaPack batteries? That is what TEK4 reminded me of back in the day. I look at this as Ryobi's version of RedLithium USB since they both are TTI.

Wasn't there already a 4v ryobi platform called tek4 or something like that?

Well this is interesting. Ryobi sure does come out with some unique useful tools. That power chisel is going to be well liked by arts and crafts people.

My daily tools are on the Makita platform but for whenever I need a odd one that will be used once every 2 years, I go Ryobi, they have practically everything at a great price

I’d honestly be more happy to meet you one day in person rob then a celebrity I think now

Makes a ton of sense, they have a lot of one off tools at 12v so this creates a battery platform... nice.

If that rotary tool outlasts my cordless lithium Dremel, I'm sold.

There is a small grommet on the Milwaukee jacket that lets you move the battery pack from behind to the inside chest pocket, but it doesn't make the m12 battery and adapter any less bulky

Makita have had one of those cutters on their 12v platform for years.

4-volt, though. So it's the same thing as the current junk, but with removable batteries. Skil and Makita have that multi-cutter in their 12v lines.

I need that power carver. Carving chisels are expensive and require constant stropping, plus you can easily overshoot and blow out your work if you're not super careful. I own a tiny little Dremel Stylo, but this? Yeah, this'll be SO useful in my workshop!

Man now I really want milwaukke to copy that electric chisel with the M12, depending on battery price I may just buy it anyway lol
