I work for a federally funded organization that helps foster kids graduate from high school and go on to college. I live in a red state. I can barely stand my fellow citizens right now. The kids we help have been let down by adults since birth, and this time, adults they don’t even know let them down. Because of greed and racism. The people that “regret their vote” need to shut their privileged mouths and suffer in silence. If you’re sitting in your home boo-hooing to your iPhone about the consequences of your vote, you deserve every hardship you have coming your way.

Canadian here. I am so very sorry about what’s happening in the US right now. It’s so polarized. Not until MAGA feels the hurt themselves will they snap out of it. It’s so shocking. Trump is coming for us. He has seriously underestimated Canada. We live in smaller, very tight knit communities and cities. We will make sure our unemployed families have food and care. We will march, demonstrate and fight if needed. We will never allow Trump to get his greedy paws on our natural resources. Canada’s land must be protected, or climate change will be our worst nightmare. The arctic is thawing and when it does, it will release uncountable metric tonnes of methane. It will also release bacteria, viruses and fungi that are 40, 000 years old and have been in stasis. They are not dead and we have no defence against them. I’m in long term recovery and a member of a 12 step fellowship. Many of my friends are recovering addicts who work in social services, at rehabs etc. Many of these same folks, somehow gleefully voted for Trump and do not believe that these cuts are coming. Many of them work in recovery oriented places as it’s a good place to work if you have felonies on your record, they can be forgiving. This is going to put addicts on the streets that haven’t even used in years.
