Awesome Video! I'm kind of on the edge with submarines. I personally feel like they could work with the correct features and map design etc. But, then again I understand why they're not being put in the game. A 2nd thing that just came to my mind is what will destroyers do? Sure they will engage in surface fighting with its gun/torps but one of the main functions of the DD other than scouting was anti sub duties. Just some thoughts I have :) Anyways love the updates this game brings! I WANNA PLAY IT NOW :(

If you want to implement subs into this game, take a page out of Battlestations book. They did subs really well, they were not only very useful and could bring a surface fleet to it's knees, they were also balanced, destroyers could pick up submarines although the further out they were the harder it was, firing torpedoes, although not quite giving the sub away, did give the destroyers an idea of where the sub ways by tracking the trails of the torpedos, and the only way subs could evade sonar was by diving to the deepest depth but doing so would put them in a position were the water pressure was so great their hull would take damage and it would essentially blind the sub player to all ships on the surface, and then on top of that, subs had a limited air supply, if they were underwater for too long they would be forced to surface, a sub player in warships would most likely see this as a "This is how quickly we must win before i surface and get killed" indicator, forcing sub players to be more active instead of hiding in an underwater corner. You could only fire torpedoes at periscope depth because the pressure was too great below it and without it you couldn't use the periscope to see where to fire the torpedoes and lastly subs are extremely weak, subs are known to suffer bad damage from near misses you don't even have to hit it directly to sink it, and in real life, if the hull suffered enough damage the sub would be forced to surface because staying underwater would sink it, and if there were enemy ships or planes were nearby they would almost certainly be boned. And on top of that a thing wargaming could implement would be that if the sub suffered damage the only way they could repair would be by surfacing, so if the periscope was damaged or if the engine room was hit, or if a torpedo tube was jammed, the only way they could get it working again would be to surface since their crews wouldn't be able to repair underwater. I'm mostly just listing off ideas here but I'm just trying to make the point that it can work.

If done right I imagine submarines would be like light tanks, they would be used for scouting, and attacking the enemy aircraft carriers, but attacking aircraft carriers would be the equivalent to a  suicide run, they could flank, they could cause chaos in enemy ranks, but they're weak, must try to remain hidden to stay alive which may not always work, and then of course the thing everyone seems to forget, they have other submarines to contend with.

There shouldn't be an issue putting subs in. They worked just fine in Battlestations Pacific.

War thunder will get warships....but you will be able to play both as tanks, planes, AND warships all at the same time! it´s gonna be EPIC.

I like japn they are the only navy to have CLT and BBV I think CAV also

So... Going on 2 years of development, and still no actual gameplay footage?
Hmm... Doesn't War Thunder have battleship combat already? And an arguably better warplane mode? And a comparable tank mode? All already integrated together in one single game? Might have to give that one a try...

I get why they're not adding subs, i understand and even empathize, but I don't think it's as insurmountable an obstacle as they are treating it, I think it can be done.

i totally agree with the submarines if there was submarines in the game i see players that keep underwater and wait for bigger ships to arrive and when the ships die they will start crying about the game mechanics so its for the best

1:00 You know, that is a good explanation for War Thunder, cuz it's GONNA BE COMBINED ARMS. The World of... series is only gonna share your total of free xp and gold... Not nearly as imersive as The Chieftan is saying.
