YouTube Tips You Need to ABANDON in 2025

Don't take these YouTube myths into 2025. Here's what to do instead.

Here's Velio:
Scroll down and select the "annual" option, then if my code isn't already added, add the code "NATE" when you sign up
This will give you both the annual discount, PLUS my discount - this is an INSANE value. (Also note if you just want to do a month-by-month plan you can do so, it just doesn't have the stacking value)

Alrighty, here's what to do:
First, why Velio? Ever since Marcus told me about it, I've been closely watching its development, using it extensively and feel I've only scratched the surface of its capability (it's constantly being updated). I've already saved a lot of time using it for myself and clients.
I want you to use it longer-term, to see how useful it is over time for you. Because of that, I reached out to the Velio team to get a "stacking" discount available to get for 14 days after this video goes live (the discount will continue for you after you sign up, it's just after these 14 days that it won't be available for other people to get)

Here's what to do:
Scroll down and select the "annual" option, then if my code isn't already added, add the code "NATE" when you sign up
This will give you both the annual discount, PLUS my discount - this is an INSANE value. (Also note if you just want to do a month-by-month plan you can do so, it just doesn't have the stacking value)

Why am I doing this? I've already recommended it to my personal clients, and I think it'll be a huge strategy assist and time saver for more people, so I wanted to share. The tool is new, and if you find it useful it can only grow from your feedback!

I have learned to stop sending my videos to friends and family and my twitter peeps. They may click on for a few seconds out of kindness, but they dont watch the whole video. My views went up organically, and I am sure my friends are happy that I stopped!😅 Now they click on and watch longer because the want to as opposed to me trying to shove my videos at them. My best lesson that I learned last year!👍🏽👍🏽 Thank you Nate & Happy New Year 🎊

Out of everything you just said.. "Stop making YouTube your sole obsession" is what I need to listen to the most haha! I've noticed that it is getting harder and harder for me to think about anything else outside of content creation. BUT I do still make time for friends, family, and hobbies!

Damn this was refreshing. So sick of the regurgitated, non-specific advice from other creators. Great video, Nate.

The man who says stop trying to be creative gives us a whole new creative approach to graphics. Just love those art cards. That was brilliant.

Thanks Nate for this video! I’m trying to revive my small YouTube channel in 2025, and your tips are exactly what I needed to hear. The part about 'stop telling friends and family about my channel' really hit home—I’ve been focusing too much on that instead of reaching the right audience. Time to put in the work and stay consistent—thanks for the motivation!

Keep going guys.
I predict all of the small channels will be big channels by the end of the year 🎉

Fantastic stuff, Nate! As a former social media manager, I’ve been begging people for to stop inviting their friends to like an irrelevant FB page because of how it messes with the algorithm. Interesting to know that also applies here!

Cheers to the New Year! 🎉 Boop!

Thanks for this and your humour. I've said for years on all social media platforms to not just tell everyone to subscribe because they're fake likes. I truly only wish for people interested in my content to subscribe so they actually wish to watch when I post.

Some good info here I'm glad to have seen 🙏

Thank you for saying that they are all connected, the performance of one video def effects the channel and other videos. even tho 'support' will always say they have no effect on each other. Great Vid!

Among all the similar videos I have watched in the past few weeks, this one is the best - To-the-point, no nonsense, all the valuable information! Thank you!

Thank you so much for this Nate. I used to run a different YouTube channel years ago, and your advice then on Channel Makers is just as useful as it is now that I'm picking it up again. You're the best!

Great video! I’ve just started my YouTube journey, and it’s awesome to have channels like this for tips on being successful. Looking forward to staying consistent and growing this year!

I think a lot of people struggle with the having to post constantly. Not over kill, just constantly. The worry that the algorithm will forget the channel.

I can vouche for the first tip. When I was a game journalist we always wrote our articles with the intent for them to link to other articles. This made older posts have a long shelf life while also giving more context on the subject. It also keeps readers on the site longer where they'll read more and more.

YouTube is a marathon for the vast majority of those NEW to it but that certainly was not the case early on. However many of those early adapters are finding it far harder these days. And for the select few, it's still literally a overnight success. Many times of which has ZERO to do with how hard anyone has worked or not.
