That's the Newcastle I grew up in, and still live there today. I used to love trying all the hats on in fenwicks still waiting for them to come back in fashion.

I was born 1954 lived in Newcastle all my life so glad I was born in the early 50s it was a happy time now I cry for my grandchildrens future 😢

I'm a Geordie from Gateshead but. I loved visiting Newcastle,
I met a lass from Newcastle we're still together today,
This footage is before my time. I was born. In the early 80s,

Newcastle looks so lovely back then and so was Gateshead shame what's happened to Geordie land

Everything looks so prosperous and well cared for. Loads of buses running when public transport was still State owned. No-one homeless and having to beg in the street, everyone well dressed. It's a real pity how some people's greed has been allowed to destroy the country.
