Janelle Monáe plays her song "Cold War" live in concert at the SF Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco, California on June 16, 2018 during her Dirty Computer tour. Cold War originally appeared on Janelle Monae's 2010 album The ArchAndroid. Janelle Monae is an award winning singer, songwriter, actress, and model. Her intro to the song:

"When I released this project, I felt very alone. I felt very afraid. I felt scared. Concerned. I didn't know what my family was going to think. I didn't know what my friends who I grew up with in Kansas City, Kansas were going to think. I didn't know what you were going to think. But coming here tonight, I have never felt so much affirmation. I feel seen. I feel heard. And I feel the love. All of those things is what I wanted to give to you. And I hope you felt that way too. I hope you feel that way right now. As we fight for LGBTQIA rights. As we fight for women's rights, immigrant rights, minority rights, disabled rights, lower-class rights. People like my parents, your parents, who are the reason we are standing here today. We must remember what we are fighting for. Remember, we are not alone. And we will get to victory. It's a cold cold war. Know what you're fighting for."

Cold War lyrics:

So you think I'm alone?
But being alone's the only way to be
When you step outside
You spend life fighting for your sanity

This is a cold war
You better know what you're fighting for
This is a cold war
Do you know what you're fighting for?

If you want to be free
Below the ground is the only place to be
Cause in this life
You spend time running from depravity

This is a cold war
Do you know what you're fighting for?
This is a cold war
You better know what you're fighting for
This is a cold war
You better know what you're fighting for
This is a cold war
Do you know what you're fighting for?

Bring wings to the weak and bring grace to the strong
May all evil stumble as it flies in the world
All the tribes comes and the mighty will crumble
We must brave this night and have faith in love

I'm trying to find my peace
I was made to believe there's something wrong with me
And it hurts my heart
Lord have mercy, ain't it plain to see?

But this is a cold war
Do you know what you're fighting for?
This is a cold war
You better know what you're fighting for

This is a cold....
This is a cold war
You better know what you're fighting for
Kellindo!
Do you know? It's a cold, cold war...
Do you?
Do you?
Do you..ahhh ahhh ahhh ahhh ahhh
It's a cold, cold
You better know what you're fighting for

Bye bye bye bye, don't you cry when you say goodbye
Bye bye bye bye, don't you cry when you say goodbye
Bye bye bye bye, don't you cry when you say goodbye
Bye bye bye bye, don't you cry when you say goodbye

So glad to see Kellindo still by her side! I knew Janelle isn't the type to forget her people but you never know when folks blow up
