Thanks for watching the video! Great reactions as always. This is an older Kurzgesagt video, so they were a lot more lax on how they presented their information. 1:55 I'm assuming they're referring to a stellar black hole that doesn't have an accretion disk. Kurzgesagt's videos were made to be easy to digest, and are prone to be misinformed sometimes.

11:05 It doesn't really matter whether the stone is ripped apart, as long as we know exactly how, we can essentially reverse engineer it into the exact same stone, i.e. information isn't lost.

I think the analogy here is: much like how we can tell something went inside the pond when the water level rises, we can tell when something went inside a black hole when the event horizon grows.

The problem is that we have no way of retrieving that information. My take on this is that information is still indestructible, just unreachable. Like an encrypted hard drive.
