Great tip as usual
I found "Forest" app very useful to deal with distructions by just blocking them for a certain time

Agreed in principle. The snag is the how, though. Distractors are everywhere.

I find that mindfulness helps when it comes to focusing on one item at a time. Also, I have a fixed "slot" for my languages every day at the same time which helps a lot.

For me, I can't listen to catchy music 30min before I focus, cus the music lingers in my head... (Now I have "Homura" ringing in my head over and over again...sigh)

Focus might be the most important thing when it comes to memory. The neurons and neurotransmitters that are active during a focused state directly impact neurons related to memory formation because it tells us that whatever we're paying attention to is important. If you're not focused, your brain will not dedicate resources to remember the information!
