Cell Phone/Morse Key Leg Strap Build

Secure your cell phone or CW paddle to your leg with this easy project.

Parts List:
(consider the 2" x 36" if you've got larger legs)

That's it!

Operating radios in the field is difficult, and keeping from dropping your QRP rig, iambic paddle, or cell phone on the ground can be tough. And if you do drop them, the damage can be quite expensive!

Here's a simple solution I came up with. Hope it helps you out as much as it has helped me.

Hope you have fun with the build. Share your results, tips, or tricks for improving the project in the comments below.

This is a great idea! I had a few magnets from a hard drive, I attached them to a large washer then to the strap. It works really well!

Great idea. It can be challenging to hold phone or tablet when operating, even with voice modes. Handheld, external mic, phone, just not enough hands to make that work. I'm going to give this a try.

I'm assuming you don't get any (or enough to mistype) movement side to side if you pull that strap tight enough? Clever idea. I think l learned about this system from your previous videos. 73
