Looks like one of those old crystal sockets could be used as the other end of the original plug.

I was wondering why you have two solder points at the rear. At one angle I saw it made me wonder if you can pull up on the key and it connects. I don't know why you would have a straight key that you pull up on but I am just thinking "Why two solder points." Just an observation/thought.
