The Simpsons writers always had a secret closeted love and affection for the Republicans and their party. It shows a lot in the early writing of the show. They even tried to befriend George and Barbara Bush in the early 90s but had a falling out. Before wokies get mad, this is all factually true. There are early documentaries on the Simpsons DVDs where they talk about it. They've begrudgingly had to promote a lot of Democratic causes due to their current ownership and out of fear of being cancelled, but its obvious where the show's true heart is.
