When you get in trouble *with* your sibling (key word "with") and you are the only one to get in trouble, after asking why they are not punished, your parents will say "We have already dealt with them" it's such a dirty and big lie.

As someone who comes from a firefighter family, yes. Stop, drop and roll does help, but I don't know if you can easily do that in a narrow trailer. That's more of an ideal method if your body caught on fire (sounds like you'd just be running around like a headless chicken), but what really matters in a smoke-filled room is that you remain low to the ground because smoke rises up to higher altitudes. You can crawl on your hands and feet like you're Solid Snake sneaking around a top secret military facility, and that's effectively the same thing as stop, drop and roll to remain safe in a smoke-filled room.

Man had a good father for telling him not to let shit slide.

My entire life I was told the whole "just ignore them it will go away" bulshit and my mom literally praised me for being harmless and it caused a lot of pain in my life.

It took me 5 months of gym and becoming a Muay Thai fighter just to have the balls to stand up for myself from micro agressions that people did around me

I remember my parents would tell me that "videogames would rot my brain" but then would be completely ok with me watching movies and I would go "Hey, I use my brain to game by thinking ahead with strategies and stuff but when I'm watching a movie I just sit there" and they were like "...don't care."

The most lie my parents told me when I was little was that butterflies grow in your ears. Now as a 13 year old teenager, sometimes I think it was true when I already thought it wasn't

Fun fact:
The myth that carrots are good for your eyesight was started by the British Royal Air Force in WW2 so the Germans wouldn’t find out that they had radar. They would explain their ability to find enemy aircraft by saying that it was because they were eating carrots, rather than that they had radar.

A big lie I was told by my teachers in middle school was that High School was gonna be so hard.

You're right about most of us not using complex math when we get older, but I just googled jobs that use math and there's... actually a few.

It's funny how so many of these were relatable for me, considering I grew up in a rural area in Norway. Really just goes to show that we're all living the same simulation 😂

I feel like parents are supposed to prepare us for the future ahead and these lies just do not help, In fact I think this is the reason why so many people still act like children nowadays, for example complaining over small things, trying to start arguments or argue over something stupid.

So basically my parents told my older brother and sister one day that Santa wasn’t real, and they were cool with it but unlike me, I litterally cried for minutes, I’m sure that I wasn’t the only one… hopefully

4:01 this actually dates back to the world war 2, as an explanation for how well enemies were being detected in the dark at night (when radar was first invented)

Fun fact: Carrots have vitamin A which helps your body. It technically does help your eyes, but minimal help.

I used to be so MAD when I said “Santa Wasn’t Real.” Towards my 4 year old brother and then they’d always say “Santa’s real”
Guys, make me happy.
