Watching this a week before we fly to Greece. When we visit, we travel either in September/early October or late March/April and it's wonderful.

Greece is quite unique. Last October, in my tour around Europe, I started from Milan (Italy) and over a month traveled to Lake Como, Venice, Zurich, Lucerne, Vienna, Bratislava, (all by train), and finally flew to Athens!
I spent ten days in Athens and Santorini (three nights). Greece was the highlight of my adventure last year. History, architecture, Mediterranean Sea, islands, food, and weather… ! although I’ve lived in many countries around the world, it is hard to find all these privileges in one little country.

I was fortunate though to know an old friend who lives in suburbs of Athens who took me all around the wonderful local and distant attractions, peak of the mountains, Temple of Apollo, little villages, Temple of Sounion, all by his motorcycle!!! Stops at coffeehouses, Fredo, Frape… local foods, variety of fish … ouzo!!!
Dangerous rides, lots of adrenaline and excitement.
I’m planning to go back on regular bases, and explore Greek islands, Crete, Kos, Mykonos … there is always something to explore in Greece.
“I will be back!”

Howdy from Las Vegas. Somewhat of a Greek-American as I was born in the Chicago area but grew up in Athens and moved back in US in my late teens but now in my 50s. Great info on your channel. September is the best month in Greece. Looking to move back to Greece within five years.

Greetings from Canada: I would agree Greece is great in September / October and one of my first destinations in 1982 was Nafplio in the Peloponnese.

I like that you speak in Greek during the video and then put both the English and Greek written language translations. I am trying to improve my Greek and this helps. I am watching from Orange County California and I am a second-generation Greek with all four of my grandparents born in Greece. I have a YouTube channel that is just for fun in my retirement. Keep up the good work.

Great channel and love following your vlogs. Keep it up.

We stayed in Nafplio for 3 weeks (Fotomara) during the 2004 Olympics and loved it. Its great to see where that path finally led to as we only went upto the closed metal gate and turned back lol. One thing about Naflio is that its a great base from which to visit many of the sites of Bronze Age Greece such as Mycenae, Epidaurus, Assini. Tyrintha, Argos, Corinth etc. while the more adventurous can also go to Sparta (Mystras) and Olympia. We also really enjoyed the beach at Tolo. Anyone familiar with Homer's Iliad will recognise all those names :)

BTW, it's a shame that all the restaurants by the sea (at he beginning of the path) at Acronafplia have closed down.

Wishing you health, happiness and success.

Kalo Mina! Thank you for your videos. I lived on Mykonos for 8 yrs. I returned for a visit there this year after 20 years. I am from Wales but I miss Greece a lot. I have gone back to studying Greek after I realised that I had actually remembered a lot. I miss my Greek friends a lot. I bought some Greek coffee and I bought a little gazi and the cool coffee pot of making it properly so I can make it here I Wales.

Greetings from Montreal, Canada... the son of Greek immigrant parents. Having lived in Greece (from 1995-2007), it was the best years during my entire 30s. I can relate to your videos. Look forward to returning for my retirement in a few years. Cheers!

Accurate - coming OUTSIDE of the tourist season is amazing! I came between sep-oct when i was 15 and i remember it being the most amazing time… as in, i actually saw Patmos living.

Now… because kids/school, we cant come in Sept.. one day. We will!

Being a lover of Greek music and a Greek musician based in NYC, were always disappointed how, concerts and events are happening just before our arrival and just after our departure, with the exception of panigiria (which on Amorgos, w violin and laouto only, plus plenty of raki, is DIVINE).
