Creating subtitles might seem easy, but there are so many technical guidelines and linguistic rules you might not know about!
Let me try and explain to you what it's really like while I create captions for a client :)

Subtitles available in English, Italian, French and Spanish.

Hello, I was wondering if in subtitle edit you can precreate the subtitles (only the timers, no text) of a video and then do "audio to text" so the right words are put in the right subtitles?
Kind of if the "audio to text" was doing it for each "precreate" subtitles

Hi Claudia, I have a question. If I already have a transcript of the original language ( Thai in this case), how can I upload it? My client requires me to upload the Thai transcripr and then translate it to English. Thank you very much :)

It would have been very nice if you had gone into more detail about how the software actually works as far as adjusting the timing and text and making them work together correctly, or those of us who already know how to do subtitles but need the techniques.

One thing I've learned to do is if it's something that's just text and not editing based, you can open the subtitles in a program like word and spellcheck and find and replace there as well have it dictate the subtitles back to you if you're not comfortable with the built in editing tools of Subtitle Edit.

Hi Claudia, I do have a request. Could you make a video explaining the subtitle guidelines by BBC and Netflix?

You don't need to press play and stop until you faint. You just use SPACE on your keyboard, it will do it for you. It is a toggle key for play/stop. And you don't need to use cut/paste so much, you can play the sequence and see what part should be in the next line, then SPLIT it in two. No more cut/paste, it is exhausting. There is the split command in the context menu in Waveform.
You also have 'get paid' text you typed in the previous and the next line.

It takes me two hours or a bit more to subtitle a 20-minute video. How can I do this faster? I lose a lot of time adjusting the subtitles to match the timing—starting at the right moment and leaving a little space after the end so they don't go by too quickly—but I feel like I'm taking way too long on this.

I make a video (I record picture and voice of what I make). Once my video is finalised I can separate the video track from the audio track. How do I make subtitles for my final video from this process?
