2 Quick Easy Knots That Hold In Slippery Rope

A splice you can make in :30 secs (the "Farmer's Splice"); plus a simple knot for joining two lines that will hold in typical cheap polypropylene. Note: many knots slip in polypro, or come undone. These ones don't, and each can be made in a few seconds. And then unmade later!
Here are the lyrics to the pun-blaster jingle he wrote for this video:

Certainly Knot ©2021 Dave Hadfield

If you’re not a knot-man,
Your knots are all for naught
Pull taut what you’re taught, man…
Then spot yourself a tot.

And what is on your Yacht, man
If Rot is all you’ve wrought?
If you’re not a sot, man,
You’ve fought the spot you sought.

For a couple of years I have used a rolling hitch to tie the poly rope of my shade sail in the back yard and it never really stayed taut until today when I saw your neat video and took my granddaughter outside and we weaved that beauty of yours!! She is 11 years old and we had a fun time of it thanks to you Dave! Love your way of communicating, like you are a neighbor.

Wow. Brilliant. I've always eschewed poly because of knotting issues, no longer. Speaks to a series of rope problems I've faced outdoors and on the water, especially people-and-deer-friendly fencing and boat mooring. Think this video just saved me $40.

Thank you for having the only video on the entire internet that deals with slippery rope!

Also, did you write that song? It's very clever and it's stuck in my head!

THNX a bunch. I'm quite the boater and don't use that stuff specifically for reasons you stated. First knot works great for anchor to boat I'm selling :)

Almost threw away new rope because knots simply unravelled when limp. Your splicing works great. Sheep bends still unravell when limp however, splicing each side of the sheep bend works a treat. Rock solid! Huge thanks to you for this video.
