Nissan Titan Alternator Replacement & Diagnostic (2004-2015)

In this video I show the steps and procedures necessary to replace an alternator on a Nissan titan and Nissan armada years 2004 through 2015. Below this description are links to all the parts and tools are used in this video. Overall the job is not too difficult and I find it easiest to remove the alternator through the top of the engine bay. FYI, its possible to squeeze it out from the bottom, so you don't need to move the power steering and all. Just replaced mine on my 04 Armada.

Great Video.

The only problem is that top bolt, 14mm, can be seized in there like you wouldn't believe. I started an 05 Armada alternator replacement job yesterday and couldn't finish because of that top bolt. When a 1/2 long ratchet, in the hands of a 230 lb man, can barely move it, it is a bad situation. I told him to soak it for a few days. if it breaks, now we are talking bracket and alternator removal for major $$$. That could be a major hurdle that some might encounter.

Aaron, Thank you for posting this. Is it easier to pull the alternator from the top rather than removing the front passenger tire and wheel well cover and pulling it from the side? Please keep the Titan content coming. It has been a huge help for me.

I like that neutral drop trick you do with the electric ratchet to get the bolts broke free. I do it too. Hehe

I replaced two alternators in one year.going on a third.The second was due to the ground not being connected.Any advice as to what is causing me to burn through alternators?
